We are developers who encourage each other to do better. We thrive to hone our skills through competition against other hackers. We code to invoke new solutions where others have failed. We want to lead the next generation of technology that will impact our world, our nation, our community and our home. We are HackWesTX.
Our goal is to provide the transition process from student to hacker. Into a hacker that will be a leader wherever they may go. A developer that will have the strength their ability to solve the world’s toughest problems. To become a coder who is proficient working in a team. We want our hackers to learn, grow and code.

Who can attend?HackWesTX is open to any college student. If you're someone who is willing to learn and wants to create something amazing, no matter what your field is, you definitely should check us out.
I have never been to a hackathon before, what should I do?No worries. We will be providing mentors during the hackathon and running workshops.
Will Travel Reimbursements be provided? We currently do not have enough funding to provide any travel reimbursements. If the situation changes we will notify all registered hackers and update the website.
The event will be 24 hours long and participants can come and go as they please, but are encouraged to stay in the designated building for easy access to resources hackers need. With that said we will have a few extra events like game tournaments and group activities to help keep the blood flowing!
What should I bring?Laptops, chargers, cell phones, and of course passion is helpful. Other useful items include: toiletries, a change of clothes, a pillow, some earplugs and a jacket.
What if I have a question that is not listed? No worries. We will be providing mentors during the hackathon and running workshops
